A luminous dialogue between historic colonial heritage and lush tropicality.
The lighting design focuses on a "collector’s home" narrative. It blends grand colonial heritage with Sentosa’s lush tropicality, using light to bridge the gap between Singapore’s storied past and its modern, sustainable future.
The façade lighting design preserves the intended architectural glow, drawing on existing electrical points to streamline implementation. It quietly sustains daily operations without disruption where efficiency, form, and light come together in balance.
Lighting in the Sensory Garden and pool areas prioritizes the resort’s "oasis" identity.
The alabaster lobby ceiling speaks in a delicate dialogue of light, where translucency transforms colour temperature into texture, warmth, and depth.
Integrating the alabaster grid ceiling called for close multi-disciplinary alignment, balancing design intent with serviceability. We explore the meeting point of warmth and clarity through mock-up testing across varying colour temperatures, achieving a quiet harmony where light settles soft, uniform, and gently balanced.
Framed by the bespoke Lasvit pendant, the layout is finely tuned to avoid conflict between grid, lighting, and suspension systems, while preserving clear access to drivers and control gear. Through rigorous coordination across trades, the result resolves into seamless execution, quiet precision, and enduring maintainability.
Deep greens, gold accents, and rich wood tones set a layered sophistication, yet gently absorb the light they hold. Decorative fixtures become the ambient voice, casting warm, nuanced glows that soften the depth of the finishes and joinery. Without reliance on stark overhead lighting, the space finds its atmosphere in restraint—an intimate dining setting that feels both refined and quietly inviting.
Guest well-being leads the intent, with architectural downlights quietly reduced to ease glare and visual noise. Concealed linear light reveals texture in soft layers, while decorative fixtures add a warm, residential glow. Invisible and visible light are held in balance, forming a refined sanctuary shaped by rhythm and control keypads guiding a robust system of 0–10V flicker-free dimming and phase-dimmed warmth. The result is a private, luxurious calm defined by soft illumination and measured contrast.
Anchored by a circular window, the lift lobby draws light as both feature and form. Its double-layered composition of stained and frosted glass, refined through extensive mock-ups, balances shifting day and night expression. Soft perimeter illumination gently traces the geometry, never competing with daylight, but quietly framing it. The result is a calm point of arrival—defined by subtle contrast, soft glow, and a sense of quiet orientation.
